Komatsu achieves customer satisfaction with the Dash-7 26/01/2005
H.E Services, the UK’s leader in specialist excavator hire, looks set to continue their success in 2005 with the purchase of ten PW160-7 excavators from Marubeni-Komatsu, the UK’s sole distributor of Komatsu equipment.
For several years, H.E Services have been purchasing Komatsu machines for its quality and reliability. Their trust in the machines is reinforced by an order for more than 300 Komatsu machines to be supplied over a period of two years. The Komatsu PW160-7 excavators are a small part of this significant order. The PW160-7 will mainly be used for roadworks.
The Komatsu PW160-7 sports impressive features designed with the European markets in mind. With a net horsepower of 90kW/121 HP @ 2.200 rpm, the machine has a high lifting capacity with powerful turbocharged engines that will
deliver maximum productivity, while the option for variable attachments gives the upmost flexibility to accommodate different work requirements. The stabiliser and dozer blade are also interchangeable for use either at the front or rear of the chassis.
H.E Services has further enhanced the versatility of the Komatsu machines making them even more valuable by adding the Masterhitch along with bucket ram guards. The quick-hitch system was specially created by Hugh Edeleanu original founder of H.E Services, to increase the efficiency of the bucket and attachment changes. The undercarriage of the PW160-7 is created for high ground clearance, with a high oscillation angle and minimal axle rocking with an outboard wet disc system, for greater control and manoeuvrability of the machine.
The Komatsu PW160-7 has improved its operator comfort by extending the cabin space by 14%. Low vibration and noise levels ensure that the driver works in pleasant conditions. Equally important to Komatsu are environmental issues, which is why the new Dash 7 is made to meet the EC Stage II emission regulations. An economy mode option reduces the fuel consumption and once the machine reaches the end of its working life, it can easily be recycled.
Pam Durey, Director of H.E Services comments: "We evaluated different machines and from listening to our customers, they generally prefer the Komatsu range as they have better specifications. Our Komatsu fleet extends from 13-40 tonnes, with all the long-reach machines supplied by Komatsu. We have a good working relationship with Komatsu as they provide a good service and products which we are happy with."
