WA700 wheel loader sets top benchmarks for performance

Built in the same factory as Komatsu’s rigid dump trucks and articulated dump trucks, the WA700-3 wheel loader is the epitome of Japanese quality. This massive 71-tonne loader has a 478Kw / 641HP turbocharged engine and a bucket capacity that ranges from 8.7 to 9.4 cubic metres.

Compared to its main competitor, the WA700-3 has superior horsepower, stability, weight, turning radius, bucket size and driver comfort. This places it at the top machine of its class. Its 7% net horsepower advantage delivers the highest performance, supporting the greatest productivity in its class today.

The cab is large, spacious, and standard equipped with power windows. Visibility is second to none because there are no front pillars. Air conditioning and an air suspension seat are also provided as standard equipment. The cab is supported by four viscous damping mounts, significantly reducing vibrations and noise. The dynamic noise level is amongst the lowest in its class, at a comfortable rating of just 79dB (ISO 6396). The steering column is tiltable and adjustable. The steering is fully hydraulic, therefore providing a rapid response with little effort - even at low engine rpms. And the optional Advanced Joy stick System provides precise steering operations that are ideal for ‘V’ shape loading.

Considering the remote locations where the machine is used, the WA700-3 is designed to need minimal scheduled service. Komatsu’s on-board EDIMOS II system monitor, situated on the WA700-3’s dashboard, reports all machine functions, diagnoses and maintenance schedules. It’s easy to read and the information is readily available at all times. The maintenance-free service brake system uses two hydraulically-actuated independent circuits for increased safety. The machine’s fully sealed wet disc brakes prevent the intrusion of dust and dirt, making them adjustment free. And the engine’s extended oil change intervals reduce downtime for scheduled services.

The machine’s SAA6D170-E3 four-cycle water-cooled Komatsu engine is in full compliance with EPA and Tier 2 environmental legislation.

The WA700 offers a broad range of options to increase productivity and best service local operating environments. For example, it’s the only machine on the market that offers both 45.65 R39 and 40.65 R39 rims, allowing both radial and bias tyres to be installed to match all requirements and applications.
